The riser comes in two lengths. The longer riser will help those that want a more upright riding position. The riser comes with two M5 holes spaced to accept a standard water bottle cage.
The design of the riser was changed on Swift's sold around 2011. Those sold during 2011 and earlier have thicker tubing and taper near the top of the riser to 1 1/8" (28.6mm). The riser has a pin inside which fits into the slot on the fork. The pin and slot have a vertical orientation from the rider's perspective. Starting in 2011 Swifts were sold with a newer riser design which is 1 1/8" (28.6mm) in diameter for the entire length. The pin inside the riser and fork slot on the bicycle have a horizontal orientation. By rotating the orientation 90 degrees this allowed us to use the thinner tubing for the entire length of the riser, thus shaving a little weight.
