Design and Development

Much of our design and development is done in partnership with Technique Applied Science and Lunar Design. Most of the engineering design of both the product and production tooling is done by Technique in its New Hampshire offices. Lunar handles industrial and graphic design out of its Palo Alto and San Francisco offices in California. We make extensive use of the internet to coordinate this geographically dispersed team.

We create our designs using the SolidWorks and Alias computer-aided design tools. Shown below is a computer-generated rendering of the Xootr done in Alias. This tool lets us check out the appearance of a design without having to build a lot of physical prototypes. SolidWorks allows us to seamlessly transfer design data into the software that produces the instructions for our computer-controlled machine tools.

We do extensive testing in our laboratories. Shown below is static strength testing of the fork and steerer structure. We also do crash testing to verify the performance of the structure under dynamic loading conditions.
