Xootr Goes Carbon Neutral with TerraPass

Scranton, PA -- Xootr LLC today announced that the company would remediate all of its carbon dioxide emissions, going completely "carbon neutral." A scientific consensus has emerged that human-generated carbon dioxide is a significant cause of global warming. Global warming is viewed by many as one of the most pressing challenges facing humanity.

Today, coinciding with the start date of the Kyoto Protocol, Xootr pledged to remediate all of the carbon dioxide emissions associated with its business. These emissions arise from the production of its scooters, the shipping of products to customers, and the travel and other administrative activities of the business. By remediating its emissions, Xootr ensures that its business does not contribute to global warming.

The company utilizes an innovative service TerraPass to carry out this remediation. Xootr contracts with TerraPass to invest in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in an amount that exactly offsets the annual emissions from Xootr's business.

Karl Ulrich, a founder of both Xootr and TerraPass comments, "Xootr offers an environmentally friendly product to our customers, many of whom share our deep concern for the environment. In the scheme of things, our action is not prohibitively expensive and remediating our emissions is just the right thing to do."

TerraPass is focused principally on the remediation of emissions from automobiles, and is a product of Benven LLC. The product is available at terrapass.com. Benven is a social venture owned and operated by a group of students at the University of Pennsylvania. The company is an independent organization, which originally grew out of a project in one of Ulrich's classes at the university.

Xootr LLC (http://www.xootr.com) is the manufacturer of the Xootr brand of kick scooters. The company was formed in 2003 as part of a reorganization of Nova Cruz Products, Inc.
