PRODUCT RECALL

April 6, 2017

Dear <name>:

We are writing to follow up on our email to you alerting you to stop using your Xootr kick scooter.

As we indicated in that email, a critical component of Xootr scooters shipped during the 10-week period from November 16, 2016 to January 26, 2017 may break under expected use conditions and thus presents a fall hazard to the rider. This is only true of scooters purchased either directly from Xootr or a Xootr dealer from November 16 to January 26 or from Amazon from January 1 to January 26. If you have any questions about whether or not your scooter is affected, please contact Xootr at support@xootr.com or by replying to this email.

The critical component is the steer support, labeled in the photograph below. If a high forward force is applied to the handle of scooter, as could occur during a front-end impact or even during an impact associated with flipping open the scooter from the closed position, the steer support could fracture. You may not notice the fracture, which presents a fall hazard while riding.

In cooperation with the U. S Consumer Product Safety Commission we are completing a voluntary recall of the product. Attached to this email is a pre-paid shipping label. We are requesting that you return your scooter to our factory so that we can replace the affected component under warranty. We will do our best to replace the component and return your scooter to you as quickly as we can. The second photo shows a steer support that is not affected by this recall.

Make sure that your shipment includes your name and the best return shipping address so we can get your scooter back to the right place.

If you have any questions, please contact Xootr at support@xootr.com or by replying to this email. You may also call our toll-free number 800-816-2724.

We are sorry for the inconvenience and hope to have you rolling again as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Xootr LLC
